Two years on: The benefits of adding Fracture Cover to LV=’s Income Protection policy

PROTECTION

For those planning a family getaway or reviewing their current policies, Fracture cover deserves a second look as an understated part of LV=’s Income Protection offering. Since introducing the feature to our Income Protection policy at the start of 2017, LV= has paid out just under £17,500 to those who have put in a claim over the last two years.

Data from LV= shows that falls have been the main reasons behind our Fracture Cover claims. Foot and Leg bone fractures were the highest causes, accounting for 53% of our claims. In the same way that Income protection can strengthen family security, Fracture Cover can deliver peace of mind in situations where events such as slips and falls can severely impact life at home.

Included free of charge compared to similar bolt-on services that other insurers provide, LV= is open to the demands of their customers dealing with the growing pressures of modern life. With Fracture cover, LV= will pay out a lump sum up to £2,200 depending on the type of bone fracture. There is no waiting period to make a Fracture cover claim. With families across the country preparing for a short getaway during the half-term period, it is worth ensuring that loved ones are covered for any falls or accidents that may not always be covered by travel insurance.

We are pleased that Fracture Cover has given our claimants great relief in times of need. However, there is more work to be done to raise awareness of the need for Income Protection and the additional benefits a customer might receive. Household income is paramount to sustaining a balanced family life, so people should always be prepared for anything that can dent their financial security.
Chris McNab, Head of Protection at LV= said,

LV= Income Protection customers can also take advantage of our exclusive online Doctor Services feature, which enables a diagnosis to be made quickly using remote GP appointments, private prescriptions and second opinion support using a mobile phone.
