Investment, protection and retirement specialist LV= has launched the latest edition of Fuel for Life*, focusing on the growing importance of protection conversations at the point of remortgaging as market conditions drive increased demand for advice.

In addition, insights from LV’s Reaching Resilience Report** reinforces the scale of the opportunity. While remortgage presents a natural checkpoint to revisit cover, only 5% of customers said they had reviewed their protection when remortgaging. More broadly, 43% of working people report having no protection in place, and one in four customers who received mortgage advice do not recall discussing protection.

With many fixed-rate mortgages maturing over the next 12–24 months* amid ongoing market uncertainty, Fuel for Life highlights the key role advisers play in reviewing protection at remortgage.
